If you are receiving regular treatment you can obtain your repeat prescription without seeing the doctor. You may, however, be asked to see the doctor on occasion to ensure everything is as it should be.

When ordering repeat prescriptions, please supply the name of the medication required, the dosage and quantity needed. This information can be found on the right-hand side of the printed label on your medication.

Please allow 48 hours (two working days) for your prescription to be prepared.

Prescription costs and exemptions

NHS charges in England

  • Prescription (per item): £9.90
  • 12-month pre-payment certificate (PPC): £114.50
  • 3-month pre-payment certificate: £32.05
  • 12-month HRT pre payment certificate : £19.80

If you have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months, or more than 14 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a pre-payment certificate.

Many patients will qualify for free NHS prescriptions.
