Prescriptions

If you are receiving regular treatment you can obtain your repeat prescription without seeing the doctor. You may, however, be asked to see the doctor on occasion to ensure everything is as it should be.

Prescriptions can be requested by:

• Calling the Prescription line between 9:30 am and 12pm (01253 956282 option 3)
• Online (Using the NHS app or PATCHs)
• Via email at [email protected]

When ordering repeat prescriptions, please supply the name of the medication required, the dosage and quantity needed. This information can be found on the right-hand side of the printed label on your medication.

Please allow 48 hours (two working days) for your prescription to be prepared.

Prescription Fees

NHS charges apply in England only

Prescription (per item): £9.65

12-month pre-payment certificate (PPC): £111.60

3-month PPC: £31.25

If you have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months, or more than 14 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a pre-payment certificate.

There are extensive exemption and remission arrangements in place to protect those who may not be able to pay NHS prescription charges.

As from 1^st April 2023 the HRT pre-payment is coming into effect, this is a patients choice to sign up to help with payments specifically for HRT.
